What is the NVQ Level 3 Health and Safety?
The Level 3 NVQ Certificate in Occupational Health and
Safety qualification is aimed at candidates working as a health and safety
practitioner, in a position of responsibility for the health, safety and
welfare of a team or organization. The qualification is generic and appropriate
for individuals working in a range of sectors.
How long is the NVQ Level 3 Health and Safety?
- The
NVQ Level 3 Health and Safety must be completed within 24 months.
What is involved when completing the NVQ Level 3 Health
and Safety?
- Delegates
will be assigned a personal assessor while gathering evidence and
developing the NVQ portfolio.
- The
qualification must be internally assessed by an appropriately experienced
and qualified assessor.
- Each
candidate is required to produce a portfolio of evidence which
demonstrates their achievement of all the learning outcomes and assessment
criteria for each unit.
What does the NVQ Level 3 Health and Safety cover?
- Promote
a positive Health and Safety culture.
- Be
able to investigate and report workplace incidents and complaints in
accordance with workplace requirements. Know the employers’ and employees’
legal responsibilities for health and safety in the workplace. Identify,
access and control Health and Safety risks.
- Be
able to make recommendations as a result of workplace investigations.
Emergency Procedures and Responses.
- Know the employers’ and employees’ legal responsibilities for health and safety in the workplace.
- Reporting and Record Keeping.
- Be
able to identify and appropriately deal with hazards and risks arising
from working practices and work environment not covered by workplace risk
assessment.
- Be
able to reduce the risks to health and safety in the workplace.
- Acknowledge
the importance of the needs and requirements of the people in the
workplace.
- Be
able to communicate workplace findings in line with the accepted
standards.
How is the NVQ Level 3 Health and Safety assessed?
- Delegates
will generate evidence that will be signed off and approved by the
assessor.
- Once
learners have fulfilled all the requirements, the internal verifier will
assess the work and sign it off as complete.
- Delegates will then be awarded the qualification.
